Governance Overview

The Cloud Efficiency Hub is a community-driven project. From day one, our goal has been to create something open, collaborative, and built by practitioners for practitioners. To help keep the Hub content useful and high-quality as it grows, we've introduced a governance model.

Become a contributor

Contributors

The hub invites contributions from anyone, regardless of role or title. Whether it's a new inefficiency, an update to existing Hub content, or feedback on the Hub itself, we welcome input from across the community. The Hub's team reviews, discusses, every submission. See all

Maintainers

After a contributor has had three published submissions, they're welcome to apply to join the Maintainer group. Maintainers are established contributors who review new submissions. They keep the Hub's content consistent, accurate, and actionable. Maintainers don't make decisions in isolation. They work closely with contributors and the broader community while reviewing submissions and making recommendations.

Governing Board

The Governing Board is a small group of community members who work together to steer the Hub's long-term direction. Governing Board members review proposals from Maintainers, approve content additions and updates, and help ensure the Hub remains true to its mission.

The board also serves as ambassadors for the Hub. It answers questions, helps onboard new contributors, and represents the project in the broader cloud and FinOps communities. An early goal of the board will be to define a charter and roadmap based on the needs of the community.

The board will select the Chair of the Governing Board. The Chair is responsible for facilitating collaboration and coordination across the project.

The Hub's structure is intentionally lightweight, transparent, and open to evolution.
